UTRGV is one of the newest universities of the 21st Century and welcomed its first class of students in Fall of 2015. It is a member of the prestigious University of Texas System and currently enrolls more than 28,000 students, making it the 10th largest public university in Texas. UTRGV offers 64 undergraduate and more than 60 postgraduate degree programs, and is also home to the only School of Medicine south of San Antonio.

What is the Mathematics and Science Academy?

The Mathematics and Science Academy (MSA) online is a two-year, 100 percent online program for high school-aged students who are gifted in mathematics and science. Students take classes from UTRGV faculty online to earn their advanced high school diploma while also completing 56-68 college semester credit hours.

What happens after completion of the program?

The MSA counselor and coordinator provide invaluable assistance with college applications and scholarship procurement. College acceptance of MSA graduates include Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia, Cornell, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, Bowdoin College, St. Mary's University, St. Edwards University, University of Houston, Baylor University, Sam Houston State, Texas State, Texas A&M, Texas A&M Kingsville, UT Austin, UTSA, and UTRGV.
