Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering
The Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering prepares you with rigorous academic training in the interdisciplinary field of materials science and engineering. Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering
The Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering (MSBME) offers advanced training in biomedicine and engineering, covering sub-disciplines such as cell and tissue engineering, biomechanics, robotics, bioinstrumentation, and more. Faculty from various departments collaborate to provide an interdisciplinary approach to learning. The curriculum includes a common core and three specialized focus course lists in Biomechanics, Biomaterials, and Biomedical manufacturing and instrumentation. You will gain foundational knowledge in molecular and systems-level biology, as well as computational modeling of physiological systems, and specialize in specific areas of biomedical engineering.
Master of Science in Civil Engineering
The Master in Civil Engineering offers you the opportunity to meet and interact with practicing engineers, businesses, and governmental agencies as well as to participate in professional engineering organizations and research. The civil engineering program offers several concentrations. It also prepares you for local, regional, or worldwide employment in the engineering profession.
Master of Science in Computer Science
The Master in Computer Science provides you with a strong foundation in the core computer science areas, together with advanced study of specialized topics in computing. The department offers a series of graduate courses designed to assist you with undergraduate study in other disciplines to transition to graduate study in computer science.
Master of Science Engineering in Electrical Engineering (MSE)
The Master in Electrical Engineering provides you with outstanding opportunities for professional development, technical specialization, and advanced research. This program has a wide variety of coursework that you will explore including IC design, RF & microwaves, power systems, semiconductor devices, biomedical devices, and cybersecurity.
Master of Science in Engineering Management
The Master in Engineering Management program provides you with an understanding of the engineering relationships between the management tasks of planning, organization, leadership, and control with the human element in production, research, and service organizations. You will have the opportunity to strengthen their technical education and acquire the skills to manage and lead engineers and engineering systems. This degree focuses on skills and expertise to help the you manage other engineers and personnel in technical or production environments. You will evaluate economic and financial structures and their implications for engineering systems. You will also develop fundamental skills in negotiations, marketing, decision analysis, and risk assessment for effective engineering management. This program is offered both in traditional and online formats.
Master of Science in Informatics
The Master in Informatics prepares students with skills in informatics, which encompasses Information Technology, Information Sciences, and related disciplines, to create strong leaders in informatics and cyber security. The program balances theory with practice to provide students with the knowledge and skills to protect sensitive information systems and personal data. The curriculum offers the latest evidence-based practice methods to develop and prepare graduates to handle systems used to prevent, detect, and defend against cybercrime. It also allows students to build a solid foundation in Cybersecurity, Informatics, E-Commerce Systems, Statistics, and Data Science with Python.
Master of Science Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering
The Master in Manufacturing Engineering is designed to help practicing engineers and managers with extensive engineering experience in manufacturing. With a combination of engineering, physical sciences, and business, this program prepares you for better opportunities in manufacturing industries. You will also have the opportunity to work on research projects with faculty that can prepare you for a doctoral program in this field. You will have the opportunity to work in virtual distributed global teams on practical industrial problems. You will learn product design and innovation using cutting-edge, 3-D modeling tools and computers as well as controlling high-tech robotic tools.
Master of Science Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
The Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in Mechanical Engineering coursework is offered in three principal areas of mechanical engineering: mechanics and design, materials engineering, and thermal fluids. Potential research opportunities exist in materials science, solid mechanics, nanotechnology, Li-ion batteries, mechatronics, aerodynamics, acoustics and vibrations, petroleum engineering, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, MEMS and NEMS, biomechanics, robotics, thermal and dynamic analysis of railroad rolling stock, condition monitoring of mechanical systems, and tribology, among others. The MSE in Mechanical Engineering has a thesis option and a non-thesis option, and both are 30-credit hour programs. You can choose to pursue the master program in Mechanical Engineering with a General Concentration (MSE) or the master program in Mechanical Engineering with a Concentration in Materials Engineering (MSE).
Graduate Certificate in Informatics
The Graduate Certificate in Informatics is a graduate level non-degree program for accelerating credentials of post-baccalaureate professionals in the area of informatics. The students will become proficient in programming for interfacing real-world systems involving networking, databases, and cloud platforms. All the courses from this graduate certificate program are fully transferable into the Master of Science in Informatics. The graduate certificates may not share hours amongst each other.
